Website design and development

I am proud to be a “one man shop” and am proficient in both graphic design and code development. A typical website project includes:

  • Graphic Design
  • Content organization and editing
  • Valid XHTML / CSS coding
  • Web-based content management integration (Modx)
  • Client Training

My services are flexible and I can create a site to fit almost any budget. Please contact me to let me start on your project.

Modx development and integration

Modx is an advanced software package which allows site owners to edit their content from any computer connected to the internet.

It has several distinct advantages:

  • Low cost
  • While similar systems can cost many thousands of dollars, Modx is open source. You never need to pay for modx or for any pay for upgrades. Of course you can always donate to the project if you feel so led.
  • Reliable
  • Modx has a proven track record, both publically and in my personal experience. I have built dozens of sites on top of Modx and am thourghly satisfied with it’s security and stability.
Graphics conversion to XHTML and CSS

I am extremely proficient in XHTML and CSS, the two fundational web languages, and take great pride in writing clean, readable, and valid code. I can convert just about any graphics into a web-based format. This includes:

  • Photoshop to web conversion
  • Fireworks to web conversion
  • Print to web conversion (e.g. brochure)
WordPress theme development

WordPress is a very popular, and freely available, blog system. I've developed numerous sites using WordPress and am happy to design a custom look for any WordPress user or simply help with WordPress installation.

In fact, I like WordPress so much I wrote a short ebook about how to install it. The screen shots are a bit dated, but the instructions are still correct.
